Dr. Latour has presented numerous workshops and master classes throughout the United States, frequently serves as an adjudicator, and has published numerous CD and book reviews and song cycle analyses for the International Alliance for Women in Music Journal and The Kaprálová Society Journal. She has published over forty articles and cover stories for Classical Singer Magazine since 2009.
She most recently presented a lecture-recital on the vocal music of Vítêszlava Kaprálová at the Women Composers Festival of Hartford, a master class presentation on appropriate audition attire at the NATS Great Lakes Regional Competition, and a master class and recital on American Song at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England. In January 2008, Michelle presented a lecture-recital on the lieder of Viktor Ullmann, a Jewish-Czech composer who was killed during the Holocaust, at the International Conference on Arts and Humanities in Hawaii. In June 2008, she presented a poster paper session at the NATS National Convention in Nashville, TN, on the same topic. Dr. Latour is highly sought after as an adjudicator at both the regional and national levels. Adjudicating credits include the Classical Singer National Convention, NATSAA Competition at both the district and regional levels, NMEA Solo & Ensemble Regionals and Command Performance, Big Bear Idol Vocal Competition, Findlay Light Opera Eleanor Mitchell Vocal Scholarship Competition, and the Young Artist Competition for the Lima Symphony Orchestra. |
